It was a close one! A special congratulations to our swimmers who earned a number one spot in their heat, including:īoys 8 & Under 100 Yard Freestyle Relay: Liam Poole, Landon Houchens, Elijah Jackson, Norbu Barnett While the Sharks did not win, they certainly put up a good fight with Key West Swim Club which won 531 to 494. The last two kids were neck in neck with Key West winning the race by a split second. “Go!!” and “Faster!!” echoed throughout Key West Swim Club. They persevered, pushed through the heat and worked hard to improve their times.Īn especially exciting moment occurred during the 11-12 year old relay (heat number 75).

The sun was low in the sky on this hot and humid 90-degree day as we cheered the Sharks on from the pool deck! These kids did not disappoint. The smell of burgers on the grill mingled with the scents of chlorine and sunscreen – a nostalgic combination for many of us. The air buzzed with excitement at the sixth and final swim meet of the season between the Lake Monticello Sharks and the Key West Swim Club.
